How does the slow computer behave when a different user is logged into it? Does it remain slow to open programs? You have tried the users profile on another computer and it works fine. Computer runs slow, is Windows 10, programs such as Word or PDF files open slowly. Secondly English is not my first language too.Īpart from that I am trying different things here or there like I have disabled the AV. But yeah I am not much experiences than you guys here. I should have been more clear with the problem. I am new to this website and I came back to IT field after two years. I apologize i should have been more clear or descriptive with the problem. I really appreciate for your courteous message. Sometimes they just don't feel like helping and instead push people away instead of remaining quiet. This isn't always the case but a good place to start.Īgain, sorry about the rude folks. The Processes tab will show the list of running processes and you can click the "CPU, Memory, Disk, or Network" words to organize most used to the top of the list to speed up identifying the culprit. The performance tab in Task Manager will show you how much is being used for the resources. If you open Task Manager and find that something is using 100% of a resource, like a hard drive or memory, then you need to identify what is using that much of that resource. I have found too many times that an anti-virus is busy scanning the computer right after is has boot into Windows and pegs the hard drive at 100% usage thus slowing down opening programs. This will give those of us willing to help a better understanding and maybe we can provide more help than just fixing a computer issue.įrom my perspective, being the computer is Windows 10 and things are slow to open, I suspect something is taking up a resource like the hard drive. Explain as best you can and state where your limitations are. My advise for the next time is to be a little more descriptive with the facts around the problem. ![]() On behalf of those being rude (not everyone mind you) I apologize nitishbatra. It takes more strength to ask for help than it does to dismiss or ignore someone. Did it maybe cross your minds that nitishbatra might be new to this line of work and just trying their best? This is where we, as experienced techs, should help guide someone and teach them how to not only diagnose problems but to communicate better when asking for help. This is where we, as experienced techs, need to ask for more details. Agreed the OP's question for help is lacking in critical information but it is no different than helping our users that say, "My computer is broken." when in fact they can't get email or a program won't open. I thought this was a place for people to help others. ![]() No, nobody has to be rude, they just choose to do so.
